Cross Stitching

Yes I confess - I am a crossstitch addict. It was years since I touched a scrap of aida and a needle, but then I accidently picked up a number of Cross Stitcher during a trip to London and I was hooked. Since then I have had the pleasure of finishing a number of gifts for babies and their parents.

Cherished Teddies

Cherished Teddies are one of my absolute favourites. Not a chart for beginners with all the different colours and the fractional stitches - but I like a challenge and the results are quite unique. I have managed to get hold of a number of Gloria and Pats books showing teddies in all sorts of disquised and suitable for every season. I find working from chartbooks is a super way to use your stock of DMC skeins and I prefer this to a finished kit.

Especially for baby

I made this for my sister-in-law to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary. A few days before the big day I was still 10 tiny hearts and all the backstitches short of being ready to frame it - and I had to ask myself "is this a relaxing hobby or are you just plain stupid?". Luckily I managed just in time and don't worry you can work out approximately how much time is needed to finish a certain picture - I just didn't know that!!l
By the way - I still love cross stitching

Another project was this picture for a friend who is a super Granny to her 3 grandchildren.
